We have an old sin nature (Rom 8:7) that hates God but loves religion, church, good works, and moral standards. But Isaiah says, when these things are done in the flesh they are like the food that passes through our body and is eliminated. They are of no value and worthless.

Now if these things are done with good intentions, humility of heart and good motives why are they considered as dung before God?
