Title: Innocence before God and one another
Scripture: And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.[1]

Sinless innocence! What is it? Adam and Eve possessed it before they ate the forbidden fruit. It gave them the greatest possible intimacy with God that man could have. It is a state of mind. It is a soul that is transparent and as clear as crystal. It is not just a good night sleep, it is a great night sleep and all the refreshment that is brings in the morning. It is a heart that is uncluttered with evil and knows it not. It is purity in its greatest form. In the state of sinless innocence the soul is not 99.9 percent pure it is 100 percent pure with no concept of evil or harm. The ability to sin and to do evil is like having the ability to be in two places at once. It simply cannot happen.

Wicked thoughts have been muzzled down a black hole and have no chance of entering the heart or causing men in their thinking to go wrong. The soul is laid bare before God and all of creation. Nothing is hidden in thought or deed. The capacity to do harm, evil, or to bring hurt to others either physically, mentally, or emotionally does not exist or cannot be brought into existence. God himself is the protective barrier guarding the heart from the knowledge of good and evil. This is what Adam and Eve had in their relationship. This is the state in which they lived in the Garden of Eden and the condition of their marriage. Beloved can you imagine if your marriage and home existed in such an atmosphere as this. What bliss! What joy could be experienced on a daily basis.

This is what it means to be naked before God. All of your thoughts, hopes, and dreams can be shared before God and there is no shame or condemnation only love and acceptance. The sure unadulterated power that exists in a relationship like that is unimagined and cannot be comprehended on this earth. Is it possible to turn back the clock some 10,000 years to the age of innocence before the fall?
